DAS FEST – A Choreographic Concert
Conceived as a dance concert, DAS FEST by laborgras and Ensemble CONTINUUM unfolds as a festive gathering in a unique setting. Blending Baroque music with contemporary dance, DAS FEST joyfully explores new forms of historical performance practices and invites the audience to an evening of surprising visual and auditory impressions.
In this musical-visual concert featuring selected works by Arcangelo Corelli and Georg Friedrich Händel, the performers of laborgras join forces with Ensemble CONTINUUM to host the celebration. At the heart of any festivity lies the coming together of people and the collective step into an atmosphere beyond the everyday. A festivity is always staged—it follows its own dynamic, dramaturgy, and choreography. It needs space, time, and encounter.
laborgras stages DAS FEST as a meeting of Baroque music and contemporary dance. The hosting musicians and dancers bring these historical compositions into the present moment. The festive music is translated into a choreographic concert, inviting the audience to experience an evening full of unexpected impressions that give early music new physical forms.
DAS FEST brings together people, eras, and artistic forms: a production in which the audience is invited to enter a space that is both precise and playful, intimate and exuberant—a festive occasion that opens the senses and offers a new perspective on the art of celebration.
