An invitation to a festive gathering. At the end of an exceptional year, the performers of laborgras and the ensemble CONTINUUM invite you to a celebration in the form of a musical-visual concert featuring selected compositions by Georg Friedrich Handel. What constitutes a party? How do we celebrate together (at this present moment)? The coming together of different people in an ambiance especially curated to transgress daily life is the fundamental idea of a celebration. Ever present is the aspect of staging – with its own dynamics, dramaturgy, and choreography – and for which space, time, and dialogical encounters are prerequisites. This new performance by laborgras explores these questions on different levels: “Das Fest” (“The Celebration”) brings together baroque music and contemporary dance in a joyful search for new forms of historical performance practices. The ensemble invites the audience to an evening replete with surprising aural and visual impressions in the special setting of a Variety Theatre.
